In the new Slashgear survey, we narrowed the brand which according to most people made the worst car. Of the 620 respondents based in the US who participated in the survey, 20% thought dodge made the worst car. The second choice that is close is Ford, which was surveyed at 17%, followed by Volkswagen by 16%. South Korean car brand Hyundai surveyed by 15%, while 14% of the participants surveyed chose Chevrolet.
At the bottom of the poll, we have Nissan at 10% and Tesla at 5%. We were not surprised that Tesla made the bottom of the list since, in another survey that we conducted, 56% of respondents thought it was the most reliable brand of electric vehicles. On the other hand, if we look at the top of the list, it can be an indication of what the majority of Americans think about dodge – after all, as they say, “Numbers don’t lie.” Let’s dig deeper to find possible reasons for this perception.
Why do so many people don’t like dodge?
In 2021, consumer reports collect data to give the most reliable and dodge car brand ranking. According to the site, dodge is not considered because “inadequate data or manufacturers have too little model.” In accordance with the words, if you go to the Dodge website, only a few models are available to buy: Charger, Challenger, RAM, and Durango. This is a striking difference compared to other car brands that have many new models available. For example, Lexus, Mazda, and Toyota – named the most reliable car brand by Consumer Reports – have a long range of models sold in the United States.
Beyond that, if we see the best -selling car brand in the United States, Dodge is not even on the top 15 list. The best -selling car model for the car maker is Dodge Grand Caravan, which is also the top minivan in the United States in 2019 (via Car Buzz). Interestingly, it was the same year that Dodge was included in the list of 10 car brands that were most reliable by Consumer Reports. Unfortunately, Dodge Grand Caravan was stopped in 2020 (via dodge).
Dodge also faced a bad ranking of reliability from consumer reports for many years, although especially reversing the trend in 2019 with a large leap to the top 10 list (through cars and drivers). Of the remaining dodge models that are being sold, Dodge Charger is the best -selling car model followed by Durango and Challenger, according to the automotive sales data website of Good Car, Bad Car. In particular, Dodge Challenger managed to sell Ford Mustang in 2021, also, underline the popularity of brand muscle cars (via drive).
